Shari served as President of the IAOM in 2013-15.
Shari's most recently published research article in the 2009 International Journal of Orofacial Myology on the relationship of thumbsucking elimination and concomitant trichtillomania, details her success over the years with thumbsucking and fingersucking that coexist with hair pulling, or trichotillomania. She highlights a current review of the literature in this article, and demonstrates that in her own experience, that by eliminating the finger or thumbsucking habit as the primary habit in a positive thumbsucking elimination program, without her addressing the hair pulling habit, the concomitant hair pulling habit subsides. Ms. Green is a frequent contributor to the IJOM.
Mentored by Rose Van Norman, Shari has attended many of her workshops and seminars. Shari has worked with close to a thousand patients in her career, and has had extensive educational coursework in psychology and early childhood development.
